Virtue

It’s easy to be strong and courageous

When life is but a smile

But the measure of a man is one who can

Make the most of every trial

For his might is tested in conflict

If his heart is yet full of love

Then certainly he’s a man of honor

He’s a man who looks above

 

It’s easy to offer a helping hand

When the task is rather small

But it’s hard to smile when you’re running the mile

And the work is very dull

Yet virtue is found in humility

And honor never in pride

For if man will love himself more than others

Then he’ll find no one by his side

 

So strive to go beyond the easy

Strive to every moment save

A pleasant thought, then you’ll have a lot

It’s not what you got, but gave

They’ll tell you to simply live for you

But that’ll lead to captivity

So make the most of your time with others

And love will be spread infinitely

Sure...yeah Neil Peart, the drummer is the lyricist. He is quite a learned writer/poet. I have written several poems that "riff" of their songs. My pseudonym on WC is the name of one of their songs (hardcore fan)....but anyway I do write about other stuff too...lol
