His Heart Was Sad and Lonely

Within the heart of a handsome boy

Dwelt loneliness and lack of love

He’d wandered a long way into the dark

The sky was grey above

His hope had faded into the night

And when he awoke there was no light

 

His heart was sad and lonely

 

He followed the path to the unknown

He felt he’d never meet up

Then fear and doubt stole his heart

And his tears began to fall like rain

Then down came a light, a spark of hope

Like a candle with a burning flame

It showed him where he had fallen

 

And out from the grave appeared a man

Glowing in garments of white

He pushed the darkness away from the boy

And covered him with pure light

He took away his sin within

Which had chained him to these prison doors

And with noble grace and awestruck wonder

He helped the boy endure

 

So as blind as he once had been

Now he’s free from all his sin

And rests in the lovely arms of Jesus

 

His heart was sad and lonely

 

But he found his One and Only

Jesus Christ his King

The Maker of everything
