The Shadow

I was embarking on a journey in search for love

But I didn’t know where to go

So I closed my eyes and began to pray

And asked God to lead the way

 

Then looking up I saw a shadow and heard a quiet whisper

I was intrigued and left my heavy load

To follow the shadow’s mysterious glow

We went through the forest and through darkness it seemed

We walked together all that day

 

And just when I thought I’d never discover

The sun kissed the shadows lovely face

And revealed a noble man of grace

And into the sunset our love was born

 

Our connection was like no other

Such as a locket and a key

As if my face was uncovered

I was blind but now I see
