Remind Me

Remind Me

A Poem by That1Nerd23

I want to know right from wrong

I need discernment to help me on

So I don't get caught in a destructive lie

In a hopeless act, in an unending sigh

I want to see beyond this mountain

I want to know You're not far away

But every time I look at the heavens

I know You're resting; You're home to stay

I fear what's ahead, I fear here and now

But I know You're waiting to comfort me

Your loving arms are stretched out

Oh, Lord, I running, I'm coming

Please forgive me for the times I fail

For all the times I fight and scream

I know you have a marvelous will

So remind me of Your hopes and dreams

Remind me of Your love and mercy

Remind me of the cross and grace

Remind me that there is no suffering

That surpasses the agony on Your face

You wore a crown of thorns on your head

As Your blood was shed for me

You were pierced and nailed to a tree

And all proclaimed that You were dead

Then as You said, you rose again

And conquered the grave for me

You took my place, You took my chains

You lavished Your love on the human race

So into Your arms I'll run with haste

And know You’re never far away
