Bloody Mary Take Me. 1/24/2012

A Poem by ~Jess
"

A young girl wanting her beauty destroyed.

"
Bloody Mary,
Bloody Mary,
Bloody Mary.

Come take this face away,
This beauty is a curse,
Alleviate me of it.

Bloody Mary,
Bloody Mary,
Bloody Mary.

Take my beauty,
Make it your own,
Destroy me to renew yourself.

Bloody Mary,
Bloody Mary,
Bloody Mary.

Thank you

Author's Note

~Jess
This uses the Blood Mary myth of the young Mary that was once beautiful but turned ugly and badly scarred by an accident. Her family removed all the mirrors in the house to try and protect the vain girl. Mary finally found a mirror and wanted to see her beautiful face. When she was met with an ugly reflection Mary became enraged, vowing to make all people as ugly as she. Mary then killed herself in front of that mirror, trapping her soul/spirit in the Mirror World. When someone says her name thrice before a mirror she comes to the mirror and claws their face repeatedly with her untamed nails.

The speaker in the poem is calling to Bloody Mary, not because she was dared or to prove friends wrong, but to have her own beauty destroyed.
