The So Called 'Friend'

The So Called 'Friend'

A Poem by Jess
"

watch out! there are people who pretend to hug you but instead stab you.

"

I was never into all you do

But once I stepped in I couldn’t go

Yours smiles, your words and fake etiquette

Cast a spell on me which I refused to hate

I made you my friend without realization

That there was no match for our mental synchronization

Gradually I felt there was something surely wrong

You had been using me for your purpose for so long

You never really cared about any of my deeds

Unless I was there to cater your needs

But I can’t bear this now I’m way too sore

Though you’ve made me a fool you won’t anymore

Author's Note

Jess
Sometimes there are people who just fake around and pretend to be your friend. But they forget that you exist when you need help.

This is so filled with the pain caused by those who are too shallow to really love, to be a true friend that stays close no matter what. And though you write of the sorrow, you write of the strength as well, to move on with your life and not be pulled back anymore. Powerful.

Thank you!
Having been through this phase a few times over, I can easily relate to this poem. Unfortunately, not everyone comes into our lives for the better, but with their departures come lessons if you're open to learning from the experience.

Good piece, my friend. x

Well said
Thank you
There's too many of these kinds of people so this is incredibly relatable. I like the structure so it's easy to read and the idea is simple. I feel like you released some frustration too. This is nice an very good! Love

You're very welcome :)
These types of people and pressures are encountered throughout a lifetime. Good on you for identifying, thus freeing up a whole bunch of happiness.
Flow was a little cluttered in trying to make the rhyme.
Strong, well thought out theme.
Good job!

Yea we learn from personal experiences....
thank you for your time
I like it.... There are too many out there that show us what we want to see, but not who they truly are.

WOW thank you
I apologize for such a way to be treated. It's unbearable and I've had my share of being stabbed in the back as well! :( Also nice use of rhyme scheme!

Pleasure :)
Fake friends are no kind of friends to have. It is good to recognize who cares and who doesn't. Keep undeserving people out of your life. That's the message I got with this poem.

About
I think I'm one of those people who stay in a conflict about who they actually are. I struggle to find which way i look better. I have a deep imagination which has no end. And if you ever meet me then.. more..
