![]() The Crash.A Story by Jess Holden![]() Saw a commercial with a girl telling her story about a horrific crash that killed her parents... kinda took that story and twisted it![]() I laughed, feeling his warm embrace grasp tightly around my right hand. I looked over at him, and smiled, feeling my cheeks turn a bright red. "I love you Abby," he said, his beautiful brown eyes furrowing into mine. I felt someone kick the back of my seat, as I looked back to see Darren and Krissy laughing histarically, pointing both of their fingers towards Tim. I wondered why Tim even bothered to come along on our little romantic adventures when he never seemed to have a date with him. I had Jacob, and Krissy had Darren. He was always the odd man out, and it always bugged me. "I love you too Jake," I said, watching as he turned back to the widing road ahead of us. Jake was a great driver, and it had surprised me that we hadn't died yet from one of his careless moments. I watched as he began to laugh at one of the jokes Tim was telling, his auburn hair shaking with his every laugh. He had a way of hypnotising me without him even being aware. I laughed along when he looked over at me, his grip loosening, and returning to the wheel. I felt a gentle tap, and turned to see Krissy leaning over the seat, gesturing at me to listen. I leaned in closely, trying to block out the sounds of the annoying snorts that Tim was making, and listened to Krissy. "I think Jacob's going to pop the question my dear!" She said, her voice filled with excitement, as we both looked over at Jacob. He looked back, a confused look on his face. "What?" He asked, looking between Krissy and I, and the road. I just smiled and shook my head at Krissy, finding it hard to imagine Jacob getting down on one knee. "Nothing love," I said, closing my eyes, and trying to focus on sleeping, instead of the roars of laughter coming from the seats behind me. "S**t!" I herd Jacob scream, as the car began to tilt to one side. I opened my eyes just in time to see the front end of the car connect with the front of an oncoming truck. I felt the car curling inwards, crunching my knees into the hard metal, my face connecting with the air bag. It knocked the wind out of my lungs, as I closed my eyes again, feeling the car push harder into my knees, a despirate scream erupting from my now fragile lips. I felt the car spin around more, until it came to a slamming halt, crashing into something hard. I opened my eyes, my vision blocked by blood in the left, and looked around, all that was left of the car was twisted metal, that was twisted around me. I looked at the driver's seat, and saw Jacob, covered in blood and glass. I raised my arm, feeling a sharp pain shoot through it, paralyzing me. I cried out as loud as I could, trying to get Jacob's attention. I saw his head move, swiviling around to look at me; but he wasn't looking anymore. Jacob's eyes were dull, and half his face was covered in blood. Their was a deep cut above his left eye, blood still pouring from the open wound. He was gone. I began tugging and pulling at the twisted reamins of car around me, trying to release my legs; every time the metal moved, it sent a shock of pain up through my body, a loud scream erupting from my lips. "Krissy! Darren! Tim! Anyone?!" I screamed out, trying to hear something other than my own laboured breathing. I couldn't hear their voices, or even any amount of movement. No!
