Dead Regrets.

Dead Regrets.

A Poem by Jess Holden
"

A story in a poetic form.

"

"And who hurt you?" you asked so fearlessly,

I'm broken, you don't want me.

"No one, why?"

You're a liar.

"You always have tears in your eyes..."

Because I never stop crying in my head.

"I have allergies."

Not in the winter.

"Oh, okay. I'll always be here for you."

No, you really wont.

You'll say froever,

But you'll run the first chance you get,

And I'll be alone again.

You'll be filled with regret,

You will start to ignore me,

Stop saying hello,

You're ashamed.

Just leave me now,

Leave me this broken,

No need to break me further.

You don't understand,

You really don't,

I want to be more than friends.

I want to hold you when you cry,

Be you're Superman and save the day,

I wish you knew...

When you came to me today almost crying,

I knew I would never see you again,

But I didn't want to fool myself,

I didn't want the hurt again...

The girl died of her injuries after a suicide attempt off the roof of a local apartment building....

The boy followed shortly after her, jumping off that same building days later. They were buried side by side....

Neither knew about the others feelings....

They both died with that one regret....

The end is like newspaper clippings.
The middle is what they each thought of later.
The begining is the convo.
