Paralyzed.A Poem by Jess HoldenA poem about wishing to help people. And if I could stand beside you, And aid you at every moment of weakness, You should know that I would, And I will. Babe, I will always be here, So don't underestimate me, And what I can handle. You don't have to let me in, You don't have to shut me out, But at least let me aid you in your journey to the end, And help you weather the storm. Let me hold you up when you fall, Let me be your little toy, I can entertain you when you’re sad, And help you party till you pass out the next day. I can be your shoulder to cry on. I can be your strength. I can be your weakness. I can’t wait. You can treat me with respect, You can trust me with your secrets, You can believe in me, And I can believe in you. And when your mind falters, And you give into your weaknesses, I will never frown upon you, I will only pat you on the back, And say “try again.” And when others abandon you at your greatest moment of weakness, We will stand side by side, And make fun of them behind their backs. I will cheer you up, Make you smile, make you laugh, We can be best of friends, Only if you give me the chance? © 2011 Jess HoldenAuthor's Note
