Skinned Knees.

Skinned Knees.

A Poem by Jess Holden
"

A poem about being broken, and healing.

"
The ocean is the ideal place to be,
But you know you love where you are in life,
When dreams of beaches and sandy getaways,
Don't satisfy your dreams of being happy.

Its just me and my skinned knees,
Nothing else here but concrete and blood,
No tears from these eyes,
Just me and my skinned knees.

Battle through every dark storm,
I love how you keep a smile on your face,
Your unstoppable,
And now so am I.

Just me and you,
Me you and my skinned knees,
Nothing else here but you,me, the concrete and blood,
No gentile kiss,
No hugs,
Just us and my skinned knees.

We've been through a lot,
But you've been through more,
Now that your gone,
I can see what dreams are for.

They help you forget, yet they help you remember.
They tell you that the impossible is always achievable.

And that skinned knees always heal.

Very nice. I especially enjoyed the "Now that you're gone, I can see what dreams are for" line.
