How an elephant got its ears and trunkA Story by JesiA tale of how an elephant came to beThere once was an elephant Who lied for his own benefits
Not only did he tell lies But listened to other peoples conversations That wasn't meant for his ears to hear
The elephant one day made a mistake He over heard someone talking about where his treasure is It was a man and a bird And thats where the elephant made his mistake By grabbing something he shouldn't take Which was a precious jewel
What he took belonged to a wizard And when the wizard asked if he took what was his The elephant just lied to the wizard Telling him It was not he but the bird who stole what was the wizards The wizard knew he was lying for he saw him take his jewel
He told the elephant "You may keep what you took, but never take me as a fool." "For that I will give you a long nose To cover the lies that come from your mouth, And big ears for over hearing what wasn't meant for you to hear."
After that experience the elephant learned To never tell another lie Nor hear what he wasn't meant to hear © 2011 JesiAuthor's Note
