Man versus his HeartA Poem by Jerryyoung1z
Under the beauty of the moon after a hard sunny day
By the dim light of a dying candles ray In the darkness and quiet of a lonely room A dying love was rekindled from this gloom In the comfort of a bed a lone figure lay Praying to reach dream land that seem so far away Eyes shot close with the hope of falling asleep Trying to escape his feelings threatening to pull him to the deep He twisted and turned, counted ''1..,2...3...'' But sleep eludes him, his heart racing free He misses her presence this is one thing he won't admit He is proud and stubborn, weakness he won't permit Barely a week ago, he said he'll never see her again The dislike he thought he had for her, he's struggling hard to retain His pride had gotten in the way from the very start The battle line is drawn, man versus his heart She always makes him apologize for even the smallest things Which hurt his pride greatly like a fish that lost it's fins Now he is sad, restless and conflicted This life is so simple, why make it complicated? If you miss someone, just go over or call If you love someone, tell it and don't you stall An hour later, he's quietly standing outside In front of a house, in which she reside He brought out his phone and dialed, standing on hard wooden floor ''I love you and 'n' sorry for all I've done, I'm outside your door'' The door flung open, revealing a happy beautiful face She warped her arms round him, and they lost their selves in the embrace. © 2017 Jerryyoung1z |
