Mr. Billingsley

Mr. Billingsley

A Poem by Jerry Ables

He's quite a wonderful man; he stands at six-foot-four

He's very kind, respectful and polite and lives the best way he knows how

Many women are happy and proud to call him a very special friend

They've shared with him many things and taken to him many tears,

Both of sorrow and of joy

He never tires of listening to them, but encourages them to speak their true minds

And does all he can to make them happy

These women are a very close-knit group of people; they love each other like sisters

They get together very frequently and speak of how he's touched their lives

With his loving, compassionate spirit

They speak of the joy he's brought to them and how he's helped them overcome various hardships

They speak of how he's helped them find courage to strive to be the best people they can be

They speak of how they'll do anything for him; just like he's done for them

He's been there for any woman who'd come to him

He's gentle enough to love and care, but strong enough to protect and defend

Many others have also benefitted from his kind and giving heart

He's been good to every child and infant he'd see

He's been kind to the sick and elderly; he also cares for the animals

He'll encourage anyone who's been bad and truly wants to turn themselves around

At every chance he gets, he'll give to the needy and underprivileged

Through all the many works he does, he still makes time for family

And always strives to stay humble

Mr. Billingsley is quite a wonderful man; his life has enriched and influenced many

He's one that time will not allow to ever be forgotten
