Other People's Matters

Other People's Matters

A Poem by Jerry Ables
"

Timeless ode to the know-it-all busybody

"

I can't understand the reason why

You always must pry into other people's matters

To interfere where you don't belong

And judge everyone by your own arrogance

Always acting like you know everything

And that everyone must answer to you

Always condemning, though you do not know

The situations of the people you judge

Throwing stones to injure their souls

Just because you think you're better than them

Always more eager to criticize

Than to lend a person a helping hand

Always too busy trying to change people

To consider the flaws of your own character

I will not let you control my life

For you have no right to tell me who to be

Let me suggest that you get a life

Apart from prying into other people's matters
