Loitering On School PropertyA Poem by Jerry AblesIt tells the story of teachers' misgivings to their students at a high school which could be anywhere. It's sad about ol' Quimby High Most of its students hate going there Because their teachers are so mean And do not seem to care About truly helping their students To grow into good and productive lives
Anytime their students show Even the smallest misunderstanding Of the lesson at hand, They assume automatically To berate the students as merely lazy And not wanting to be useful in life
Boy, how they spit in the faces Of students they see being tormented By treating it as being automatic That the victim is just as wrong as the bully And punishing them both without listening To know what was really happening
These teachers don't seem to care That even the best students can feel lost The only time they'll act like they care Even vaguely about their students Is when they're in lust for one of them And then, it's straight A's for doing nothing
These teachers don't seem to care About serving the intended purpose For the law making kids go to school It seems they're too busy being angry Because loitering on school property Isn't listed as a career
It's sad about ol' Quimby High Its teachers are contributing To the crumbling of their society With how they seem to hate truly teaching Instead of being able to make a career Of loitering on school property
