HopeA Poem by Jerry Doran
These days are dark.
Oh so dark. The rain pours down day and night. Sometimes I wonder if we're ever again going to see the life giving light. The money's all dried up just like the river that once ran wild. And the former fertile land now stretches on barren for miles and miles. You haven't been happy in so long, I hope your face still remembers how to smile. Keep your head up. You say, this world's going to Hell, now who's going to help. The truth is no one can help us but ourselves. We've got to press on and make progress. We must have faith and know the path we walk leads to success. I'm hurting just like you. But I know in my heart with love for all we'll make it through. The grey skies of despair will once again turn a blissful blue. The rivers will flow strong and it's water will be clear and cool. We will drink the truth that it provides. and embrace the mother like nourishment it gives our lives. The revitalized soil and dirt will give birth to a healthier earth. Allowing the fields to flow like an endless golden sea. This boubtiful bouquet of rich grains will give more than enough healthy food for everybody The money will also come back, and will line our pockets and pave our streets. Spread out equally for once everyone will enjoy the feast. Remember to always stay strong and look ahead. There is a hope in the unseen. That only dissappears when we fail to dream. © 2008 Jerry Doran |
