Christmas Tear

Christmas Tear

A Poem by Jerry

In all of the Christmas cheer,

we seem to have once a year,

what still lingers on my mind,

are those that are left behind.

The ones no one cares about,

and they just seem so left out.

For how can the Christmas trees,

help the hurting such as these?

So, if I should shed a tear,

I'm not against Christmas cheer,

it's just that those left behind,

keep lingering on my mind.

As one of those who chooses, willfully and forcefully, to be 'left behind' by Christmas, I can assure you that we're all doing just peachy. Welcome to the world of "Nothing is Happening Here on the Twenty-Fifth of the Twelfth month." Not left out, just don't give a s**t about your silly holiday with no meaning to non-religious/non-family types like myself. Just a day to make some overtime off your backs, suckers.
