Stay Happy

Stay Happy

A Poem by Jestice Hansen

you always know what to say
its like the words formulate in a sentence
coated with honey and sugar as music to my ears in the most humble way,
when I'm pain,
when my heart is heavy,
you cover the words in morphine and they soak into my chest to take it away,
its so heavy,
and the pain is lifted and taken where all mended hearts go.

this is why i listen when there is talk about heaven,
outside of an agnostic wonderment and borderline confusion i listen to what is given,
it's because of words you use to describe it
beautiful because you don't actually talk about this place,
my metaphoric mind introduces the idea that a Never land is possible by the way
you say
"grow old with me;"

Grow old with me,
and continue to say the words to mend the cracks in my heavy heart whenever they tend to show,
I'm strong and you know,
but you understand that every load, is better when a shoulder to cry on is handy,
& I'm angry with myself I don't wish to trouble you so..
but now we know,
that heaven exists in the hearts of the ones who love us,
and it is available to be seen by those who look, thus,
I love you,
and we can stay this way,
I promise and these words are for you to use,
to mend the cracks,
when your heart is heavy,
when I'm not there even though I should be.
just return the promise back to me,
and we can share a promise together that we can stay happy.
