tears of goldA Poem by Jestice Hansen
She cried tears of gold,
and i never told her how the road that she walked on went on for another 60 years or so, in good health, and prosperity, but she looked up at me to say "i know I'm young.." "But this war wages and asks for soldiers i don't have and strength i don't carry with these.. Arms.." Looking at the "stars," in inked pages You're strong, and you're only sixteen. You have so many things wrong, and I want to fix them. The plated tears fell from her cheeks coated in poison, from the makeup she wears recommended by Cosmopolitan, magazines were her faithful friend, always telling her who to be and where to bend with her body. She had a beautiful body, but she didn't see it, it's like she mirror was an enemy, making her want to cross boundaries, That were not meant to be crossed, she's lost, but with still wonder in her eyes where the gold is made and falls to her side, I'll stand by your side. I took the flimsy pages of images from her finger tips and put them on a shelf out of her reach so they would become irrelevant, like they should be, and i took her hands and promised her that she was born to be, this way, everything and anything that she is right now and i want her just as she is so that person should stay. she should stay. I adore her. and she should never go away. because you know as well as I do, that the world we live in has an obsession with making you change, and a fixation with making us all stand by, just watching, and i beg you not to doubt me, i'll try my best to keep you happy, as long as i can but please,
just stay this way. © 2013 Jestice Hansen |
