An Ode To The Alley

An Ode To The Alley

A Poem by Matthew Mckelvey

She intrigues the worst kind of drool
Leaving nothing but bone
She's fatigued from a world so cruel
Weaving its hands until her mouth is sewn

Nothing seems better in black and white
Than a joke left to burn her down
Something has to make them beckon the light
So she uses her hair to burn the earth to the ground

Somebody should have known
Someone should've stopped them
Somebody wilted the life thats grown
And now someone's gonna suffer again

As a star dies they turn a blind eye
No one left unashamed of the words they spoke
While her far cries turn violent and dry
The world tremble and their words make them choke

"Breathe in the poison you've fed me.
I bring unto you the tribulations you brought on your soul!
Bleeding from the noise of the greiving heartbeat!
I sing unto you shame that leaves an empty hole!"

"Leave me to die and I'll see that you become food for the flies!
I'll walk away when you can find the air of my aching sighs! "
