Impressions

A Poem by Jeremy Wyatt

sea-smoothed relic
of an ancient summer's day
two children ran together
while you walked side by side
watching as they played
amongst birch and marsh
two more tides
and you will fade into silt
but I saw your footprints
and I saw you
