A Heavy StepA Poem by Jeremiahh
Exhaling breathlessly,
I stand amazed at this, my first sight of you. My heart wrenches as if prematurely prepping my mind for possibilities to come. Ideas like instant wishes enter my arsenal of thoughts, with the highest hopes of being granted. But as you stride by for what feel like an eternity, ending far too quickly, I know that I could never stand a chance with she that I've already planned for. Then like we're from two different words, I sink back down to my own. Cheeks gushing red from your goddess-like gorgeousness, I quickly turn my face before you notice my astonished, yet shamed eyes. And you pass on by, leaving an deep imprint that you never even noticed you left in my small life. © 2010 Jeremiahh |
