You and Me

You and Me

A Poem by Jeremiah Cook

Me and you we gotta search for something new
Give me a sharp edged sword give me a hard earned lesson
New birth fresh air sweet
No two swans are just alike
I think we'll fly down south
Then turn west to the red orange light

Offer me a contract sign it I'll grab it
but don't let my dad know it
for I been trying to shake that off for a long long time

Take me on a new ride
I'll let you guide
Pure essence prime caliber
Take the rest those
Scarred rabbits
Don't wanna fall in

You and me you gotta show me
Take me on a 20 foot spoon
Take me on 9 inch wave
but don't leave me in a daydream

You and me if you're nice
you'll let me try it
you and me we gotta search for something new
Weekend stride, Monday drag
keep me company life draining fast

So where were you when Van Gogh's ear hit bottom
hit it hard rock bottom hard
You're so strong you're so fine
Me and you
What's my name?
