Three Thousand Dollars

Three Thousand Dollars

A Poem by inkspilled
"

Short draft I did after receiving a the prompt of 'three thousand dollars' from my English teacher.

"
There was a part of her deep down past her heart and in the pit of her stomach that told her to cut her ties and run. I think she loved him because there was something inherently evil witching him and it matched the image she had of herself. She was not an evil person just toxic - the two are very different. I can't tell you why she adored him, I have theories. I think maybe it was the way that mink fur hugged her like her Mother never did. It could maybe have been the alligator handbag she clung onto like a comfort blanket. I can't tell you why she stayed. I'm not in her head. I am not her. I don't need the feel of three thousand dollars to help me sleep at night.
