Taking It AllA Poem by Jennifer Kthere is nothing leftTaking It All You had my heart Held firmly in your fist You tore it apart So I ended up like this As you shredded my soul I shredded my own skin I am no longer whole Physically or within The blood from a gash Pours endlessly like rain Now turned to ash My heart ignited in pain The scars on my skin Eventually will fade But the scars left within Are permanently made You emptied my heart And robbed my soul Tearing it apart And taking it all One only thing left of me And it's left for you to take: My troubled mind wandering free, Regretting a life full of mistakes So keep that old piece As a memory of my life A deal started with your words And sealed with a knife -Jennifer Kurack
