To be trapped in a dark place forever or go up in flames: the choice is yours.

Trapped in Your Darkness

Your strength pulls me in 
But is the reason for my demise
Your venom from within
Hidden behind your eyes

The words your spat out
Slowly pull me down under
The poisonous words you shout
Rock my world like thunder

You pulled me into your space
And locked the iron door
I found your soul to be a dark place
And your heart even more

What you shout at me
Each time opens a new wound 
My heart isn't yet empty 
But it will be soon 

Your heart is black
In the deepest shade
If I could I'd turn back
And never look your way

But I am stuck in your grip
Never to return
And if your hand slips
Into the fire I'll burn

I still can't decide 
Between the two fates
To stay at your side
Or go up in flames

So I choose the first one
And plaster a smile on my face
But my happiness is done
Overcome by this dark place
