Short Dreams

based on a dream I had

I dreamt a dream where you and I 
Could dance where time is endless
And although it wasn't real
I still wake up breathless

And in that dream you kissed me
Softly, quick and chaste
And although it was all fake
I still crave your taste 

We walked for miles, hand in hand
Smiling, yet not up to our eyes
Even though our time is short
You still give me butterflies

Because a second spent with you
Is greater than a year with someone else
But if I was without you 
I couldn't live with myself 

My dream was rather short
It might have been a mistake 
But to spend seconds with you 
That's a risk I'm willing to take

I liked how honest and pure the poem was. I particularly admired the subject, and how you presented it to the audience. This way of expressing affection is something i find naturally difficult for myself, and many of my own poems take a little more twisted take on love even though i dont intend it that way. This was a very nice poem, it flowed perfectly and was very soft and appealing in its tone. I loved it!
