When I came back from LyonnesseA Poem by Jennimy CricketInspired by an Enlish trip to Cornwall and Hardy's "When I set out for Lyonnesse". Hope you like :) x xWhen I came back from Lyonnesse, With magic in my eyes, The blue of sky seemed muted blue, Compared to Cornwall skies. The air too still; The tasks too dull; To hold my searching mind, That longed to be at Lyonnesse, To float upon the tide. For O that sea, that infinite sea That beckoned from the west; That seemed to whisper, solely to me, “There is hope, keep stretching yet” And O the wind, that soul searching wind, That ran through my hair and my veins, Seeming to blow out each cobweb of fear, Vowing never to spin them again. We wandered down a lover’s path, Rode twain and then alone, Will the stones now record that we all passed? Will the century old phantoms live on? Perhaps its true that such a scape Has a memory so wide That it has sent me back from Lyonnesse With His magic in my eyes. © 2010 Jennimy CricketAuthor's Note
