Voyeur to the Dawn

Voyeur to the Dawn

A Poem by Jennimy Cricket
"

Poem about watching the sunrise.

"

The hour before dawn is the loneliest hour;

The latent lag time between nature’s night watch

And the brave first note of sunrise that

Surrounds each voyeur to the sky’s dilution

In swirling thoughts that, though with no meaning,

Fill their host with abject grief.

Solitary grief.

And fear;

The flitting shadows that seem to shape the comfort of darkness

Into the corners and confines of deepest memories.

The ones you’d forgotten but are dredged up

With the pre-dawn’s power to awaken the old

And silence the voices of hope.

And yet,

The sun still rises,

And burns away the lingering fibres of terror’s web

With rays of light, steadily stretching

And herding the shadows back to their margins

Till all is light,

And all is well.

And finally, I slept.

This is great darling
But...Just at the start, its very.. long.. if that makes sense, this could very well be a choice you made to make the night seem longer but it was, not the most easy of reads.
But it got going much more during the middle and end :)
lovely darling

this is very good - great imagery. love the references to nightmares - abject terror washed away by one ray of 'new-born' light. beautiful.
