Wind Song

Wind Song

A Poem by Jennimy Cricket
"

Short poem inspired by my dormitory view...

"

I opened my window to the waking winter

And the wind whipped in to claim me

To whisper its wonders on unhearing ears

Of things it had slipped through and seen

It told me of a hollow tree

That lies beyond the river’s rein

That, though abandoned by a tree sprite’s grace,

Through the shell of it’s corpse lived again

And oh, the nooks, the crannies that gaped

And chorused each note of Wind’s song

The grass-maids that danced in wanton whirling

‘Bove river-washed diamonds that shone

It told me of towns, countries and continents

In which it had tarried and twisted;

It tryed to tell me of all these things...

But yet my ears resisted.

I opened my window to the waking winter

And the wind whipped in to claim me

To whisper its wonders on unhearing ears

That, alas, heard only wailing.

Really beautiful poem and loved the message, reflects the thoughts we have at our most alive state of being which is unfortunately rare :P
Great wordplay and lovely feel to the piece, true expression of feeling,
Anyway enough waffle, fantastic poem darling :P

This is brilliant darling !!!
It talks very well about how if we don't pay attention we can sometimes miss out on the beauty of nature. Or that's what it says to me. :)
Very well written my dear !
