We Are All The Same

We Are All The Same

A Poem by Jenny Davis
"

This month's vent...

"

He said, she said,
Gossip

Attacking, hurting
Crying

Jealousy, resentment
Lost

These things make me ask-
why
people don't want to
try-
and make amends to wars,
throw open their doors
and embrace the sunny side
of peace

So many of my friends-
caught up in attacks
when really the facts-
are not properly presented

A generalization is cemented-
and they can't break free
of hate and malice
at such a degree

That I wonder
what's happened in their life-
what cut like a knife,
leaving a hole in their heart

When we could all be smiling
hugs and kisses piling
onto the souls we've both sullied
there on life's path- all muddied

By ignorance and judgement
and mean spirited intentions

Little condescensions
to dim a light-
so much like our own
Leave well enough alone

And remember;
we are all the same

Jenny, this is awesome and so true. A viable rant and glad you put it out there.

Lost

try-
and make amends to wars,

A perfect beginning right here. You made your point well. :-)

The part I really appreciated out of this piece is this though:

So many of my friends-
caught up in attacks
when really the facts-
are not properly presented

A generalization is cemented-
and they can't break free
of hate and malice
at such a degree

When facts aren't properly presented and generalizations are made because a few people "say so," it pays to check out the accusations first. Accusations cause all kinds of unnecessary problems for the one that it is being presented about, usually via a rumor that is untrue. That's why they call it a rumor. True friends know when something is not true though and will stick by us through the thick and thin.

Just one small over sight that I could see:

***leaving a whole in their heart

I think You meant hole.

You are a genuine peacemaker at heart, and I am glad you are here! It was a joy to read this today. :-)

Blessings, Carole

Jenny, I also ask myself what it might be... this "So many of my friends-
caught up in attacks" ------------------I thought behind this is insecurity. A secure person doesn't attack?
That I wonder
what's happened in their life-
what cut like a knife,
leaving a hole in their heart------------ I guess, when a person is experiencing a violent parents house and extreme deprivation on warm emotions and lots of disrespect then happens like this. I find it fascinating that moder psychology rolls the awareness back so, people can theoretically unlearn what the learnt.
When we could all be smiling
hugs and kisses piling
onto the souls we've both sullied
there on life's path- all muddied
-----------------------------------------------------this is a great generous stanza, it is like sending roses to all those who never get a gift...I found out, life is about altruism and sharing. I have such a love for ancient life forms, i.e. zoroastrians... they had such a great altruism and I respect all nature folks, indians or aborigines who used to live after their dreams... I am now writing an essay...about this how how difficult I find personally to look into our dreams (i know i wrote several text on that.. ha but still find new aspects)

By ignorance and judgement
and mean spirited intentions ----------------yes! yes. I am so fascinated by the fact that doesn't matter what religion people have - in U-S many Christians there.... in every religion there is this ethic value of humbleness and respect for others without critics... Actually I believe... I have to jump in someone consciousness and see the motif for his behaviour. This is what I try with my mother. Yes, Jenny so brilliantly stated: we are all the same.

Beautiful, darling. love you. miss you!!

You really knocked this one out of the ballpark my friend...it's true in real life and in online life. I think sometimes (I hope anyway) that people are more willing to make peace in real life than online...of course that's not always true, but I think people online sometimes come here to create drama and start the kinds of petty wars you describe here. They go from one to another hurting others and ultimately themselves whether they realize it or not, and why? It's all just nonsense usually. What's the point? Some things are worth fighting for, but most never learn how to pick which battles are worthy of their energies. Everything gets them on the attack from avatars to things that really matter. :)

Oh boy Jenny you went for the throat on this one and I know all bout attacks... it's a shame when some people have nothing better to do then try and tear others down... Kudos on the poem.
