Coming Undone

Coming Undone

A Poem by Jenny Davis
"

This month's vent...

"

I want to know where justice lives
who in this world cares and gives

If taxes and death
are our only certainty
I say take my breath
kill me where I be

There's great sadness
in the house of madness
and our leaders are our kings
of useless war and other things

Whatever happened to compassion
Was that bill of emotion rationed

Up there on the hill
of money and power
Filthy corrupt governments
won't you please take a shower

You are stinking up our serenity
Credit our only amenity
with a high price of regret
to pay for never ending debt

We're swimming in sewers
that once were spring waters
now left to sons and daughters
along with no security

Work all our lives for nothin
hey aint that somethin
They say plan ahead
yet no money's under our bed

To save and invest in
all chips go to rent and
the rich flash a kool-aid smile
clearin the last country mile

It's all about industry
hyped up hypocrisy
Dangling from cigarettes sold
but all of the sudden they scold

For something they knew
would turn your skin blue
eventually
unconventionally

Ho Hum
the public is dumb
no brain cells left
not one

Messin with science is fun
how hot is the sun
now
sick cow

Feed it to us
no one makes a fuss
we want to know
what stars glow

In Hollywood
aint life good
for an actor
someone on fear factor

This pill's where it's at
take another to counteract
the side effects that make you fat
take sweetener to control that

Has ingredients to kill rats
That's
an abomination
screwing civilization

A harsh realization
of a nation
coming undone

YES! I cannot give this piece the review it truly deserves because it just will not fit here. But I will say this.... OMG YES!!!!!

It just doesn't get any clearer than this. The entire piece was perfect and power packed!

A harsh realization
of a nation
coming undone

Applause applause! I often think that 95% of society just doesn't pay attention to the descruction and choas around us. This is an absolutely fabulous and powerful piece. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! : )

great job with this one Jenny! Not only did you hit so many valid points to vent about here - you did it with a wonderful rhyme scheme! I loved this piece - especially the shower line lol.

Well done - I wouldn't even consider this a rant - I would say it is the cold hard truth of the matter. Great points made throughout - thank you for giving a voice to those that are just too stupid to know better and those that can not speak out.

Wonderful superb vent, Jenny! So true, I don't know what to say that will do this justice so I'll just applaud you and say this is an absolute favorite.

Hell yeah. Spit venom. That's my girl hammering fist against a system that isn't working and never has. Damn the man and all their lies. I can't want to hear you tear this one up on the mic. You are the rock star my dear.

Great Job!!!!!!!

Holy statue of liberties bat girl what a highly explosive piece...

If taxes and death
are our only certainty
I say take my breath
kill me where I be

that part right there in the beginning really set this fantastic rant about where the state of the world and our government lies... it seems our freedoms and rights are pretty much for sale and the cost is our homes and jobs... I salute you my friend!!

There is such a thundering power to this Jenny...you really poured your heart into this and it shows from beginning to end. I love the pulse of it, the way you express yourself throughout...this is so much more than a rant. There is anger, sadness, disgust, fear...the whole shabang. Excellent work as always from you. Now we just have to hear you read it out loud. This write demands to be spoken word. :)

Holy cow ... after that, all I can do is stand up and applaud!

I love the way you started it out and as it got closer to the end, the format changed a bit. There is such power in these words and truth imbedded in it as well. Here, here.

With liberty and justice for sale. That's how the pledge should end. Great.
