When The Sunlight Hits A Window

When The Sunlight Hits A Window

A Poem by Jenny Davis

It's the time of day
when sunlight hits a window;
creating a stage for dust and shadow

Tiny particles, dancing
competing for space; and time in the spotlight

Everything's brighter
as if God hits a light switch;
inspecting His children's rooms

Wise eyes searching
wondering; why complex clutters simple

Then a cheese cloth cloud
wipes away the coruscation;
blocking out the new view

Gray hands, covering
thinking; "That's enough magic for today"

This is just gorgeous...only you could make dust particles seem magical. I love that time of day myself. You can see all the little things you don't normally see and the light has a special quality then too. Its like we're meant to have that time for reflection each day.

this definitely goes in my favorites :)

oh Jenny sweetie, this was wonderful. You were able to make a mystery middle of no thing! I so adore this your being the ultimate sensitivity! What a wonderful brush of beauty. This is real poetry: to pick up a detail what nobody thinks about and make a of it a symphony middle of nowhere... yes also my favorite.

Leave it to you to see the spark of divine in such a simple thing. This is an inspiring poem.
True "magic" is so evident in every sweep of the Creator's hand... if we only open our eyes.

Sweet as honey... Inspiring... Bear

Beautiful. I can see the dust particles floating lazily through the beams, like a tiny universe, which is nice because it's cold as heck here, and I haven't seen the Sun all day. I love the visualizations, especially, and the contrast of old age with such a "childish" preoccupation, as well.

The world IS it's own magic. Good work.

Sweet and 'light', beautiful visuals you painted with your words. I almost feel I should squint to see.
Nice write Jenny.

This soft on the psyche... A well put tapestry on a window sill of great word play... This is what poetry should be...

I really loved this. Extremely sweet, modest and well crafted. So many efforts around here attempt to be profound, deep, heavy...and instead turn out merely to be overwrought, overwritten, silly and laughable. And sad. Your piece is very professional...lovely. Delightful. (This is quite publishable)
Good luck,
GA

You have done the very thing I cherish most about writing, exploited simplicity. What a great gift to be able to see what is over looked, to appreciate the minut details. Well Done.

Very gorgeous to find the magic in the tunnel of light and dust particles. I like how you let it humble you, as you take the time to reflect.
