Gracious Tryst

Gracious Tryst

A Poem by Jenny Davis

The sun takes her final bow
stepping down from her spotlight,
giving way to the silent moon
pushing his way into a frame of mystery.

The music starts to play
creations become enchanted
and winds breath to the rhythm.

Entities persuade a dance
on ceilings of velvet and glimmer,
while flutters and sighs from night birds
fill in silence between pauses of melodies.

The stars whistle in time
trees are awed at their wonder
and grass grows to greet them.

The skies stay attentive
anticipating alluring laughter
keeping its weary eyes open and beholden,
for sun and moon's gracious tryst.

such a beautiful piece of writing. I love the power of your images the words so perfectly chosen. vivid details of colors and sights allowing my imaginations to become lost in the scenery and moment that seemed to be captured with a wonder clarity. Very beautiful.

Very nice. you have some really great imagery here. I especially like "the stars whistle in time", and the idea of the 'silent moon"

there is a legend, Greek, Roman, I don't know from where, where the moon and sun were once lovers, now forever parted. This brought that to mind for me; and made me think of those times, although rare, when the moon still sits upon the sunlit sky for a brief time. Now I wonder what they talk about then. a beautiful write - and a great way to start my morning.

Very beautiful work!

"The stars whistle in time

I really like that image - the grass growing to meet the stars. You have a real gift for choosing just the right word at just the right time! Great work!

This is truly lovely Jenny. I felt like I was floating on a cloud as I read this and now that it's over I'm still floating up there somehow. You really have a gift for describing magical moments like this one and making them feel as if they were happening for your reader. Great job.
