Snow Angels

Snow Angels

A Poem by Jenny Davis

Snow falls and it's just a white shadow-
of Angels hitting the ground.

They're born to lift spirits of the lost-
proving their existence here.

Their mark is clear, covering colors-
that once glimmered in spring.

For who would appreciate a life vivid-
without the eclipse of the trees.

Jenny.. snow seems to make things ' clean'.. a little fresher..
I like this poem very much for the calmness of it and peace.
Yes, who would appreciate a life vivid without the eclipse of tree?

I wish we would get snow this Christmas. but doubtful..

Calm and lovely!

Snow is always more romantic in December and January than March... did you ever notice that? LOL Once more you have created a lovely piece. It flows so gracefully. The picture really sets off the words as well. I love snow/ice covered trees. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Oh, what a wonderfully hopeful and inspirational poem, Jenny. Loved the imagery of snow angels as frosted trees filling us with wonder. One day, the frosted trees with awake again and harken the Spring. Loved it.

Tranquil like the snow untouched by human footsteps. Looking out a frosty window at a wonderland of winter white is one of those moments when we feel truly blessed.

Very beautiful and calming... nothing like new fallen snow to bring and essence of piece that you captured so vividly here.

Exquisite from beginning to end. This makes me want to go outside and play in the snow. I should have read this last week when the snow was high and powered and fun. Now it's all black and frozen and blech! But I can always come back to read this, get inspired and then go out after we have another storm and since its early we know that we will.

"Eclipse of the trees," that line is simply breathtaking and beautiful.

A dozen roses and some chocolate for you!

A simple and effective composition, reflecting thoughts of seasonal reminisces. I loved the symbolism of the 'Snow Angel' theme.

It also reminded me that on March 28, 2007, Guinness World Records confirmed that North Dakota holds the world record for the most snow angels made simultaneously in one place. The record breaking event occurred February 17, 2007 when 8,962 snow angels were created by people waving their arms, while lying in the snow, covering the state Capitol grounds in Bismarck, North Dakota.

this is beautiful writing here. I am assuming there is a specific style - almost senryu in the couplet lines but for the life of me I can't remember what its called. What ever it is - it is incredible - creating strong sentiment and image - it lifts my soul to read it.
