Same wavelength my friend... I just posted my little "hello" note at the top of my screen and came to see if you had anything new... and behold!
You always say so much and I am moved and inspired by this. We cannot spread what we do not know and we cannot know what we have not been told.
We struggle in the Bear household so much with the balance between the meaning and the commercialism this time of year... it's hard to strike that balance. But we remember when we lay down to die, there are three boy cubs who will be there to carry on the tradition, or forsake it.
So we give while we live... and hope the seed planted outlives the sower.
A random act of kindness and often when others do not know about it is the best way to give back. It is true we should remain thankful for the entire year not just the holiday season. Great write,
This poem does much to answer a question that I had been wondering about. And I can not help but see that it is a real life reflection of the author. Regardless of what religion they follow, it is a sorry individual indeed that would take offense from this message of love.
Hey Jenny, I love your message in this little poem, you are so right it never hurts or costs anything to give someone a smile and we know it always makes us feel great. A good rule we should all practice and it matters not what or who we are, Christian or not. The reciprient of that smile, lives another day and those remember who are no longer with us, are still here in our hearts, when we remember them.

Every day, all around us, there are too many reminders of what Chrstmas isn't about. But it's really not hard to find the true meaning of the blessed event and your poem is proof of that. This is really pretty, Jenny, and the message of not forgetting is one we can all take to heart.
so often people think these acts only bring something to those we do them for...but ...I always feel good when doing something nice for someone...whether it was taking the cart back for the old man at the supermarket, or smiling at the embarrassed mother with the screaming children...certainly worth the time! excellent write...and wish more would make it a year long thing!
Simple and plain wisdom. Why is it so hard to attain ? Every line you've written requires so little, really. To give..to treat others with common decency. As you point out, why does it have to be this time of year when kindness comes to the front of the line ? I liked this, a lot. Rain..
Well I'll tell you this, I'm not Christian but I don't think you have to be to enjoy this poem. This was well written and full of great imagery. It conveys a sense charity that I believe should be instilled in every person regardless of religion. A very well written piece.
