Little Dreamer

Little Dreamer

A Poem by Jenny Davis

Stay awake,

little dreamer,

don't let your eyes

close to the seasons.

Beauty is all around,

compliments of Sir Sun

stretching his arms out

to hold you.

Hand made quilts

of rainbowed leaves

wait to warm you in coldness

of days that are gray.

Mr. Ocean is calling

missing your funny toes

dipping in,

jumping and waving you on.

Hues of all that's alive

decorate the skies

laughing, greeting you,

good morning!

The master sculptor

creates and displays

just for you,

don't miss a thing,

little dreamer.

Definitely a sweet one here, with an innocence that matches the other who this is told to; yet, it feels like its intended reader is not a child at all, perhaps, a reminder to the "inner child" who has forgotten her dreams. The universe wants to remind of the beauty, all the reader need do is smile and remember. Cheers. Thanks for the read, Jenny. It's about time you posted a new work. Rob

The possum gets a little overly sentimental sometimes... but I got a little bleary-eyed on this one to.

Great work.

I gotta get that boy to the ocean! Mama Bear won't let me go 'cause I always get myself in trouble.

Do you mind if I say I love this?

I love dipping my little funny possum toes in the ocean. Well, I've never really been to the ocean but I have waded through Farmer Tony's cow-wading pond a couple of times. It's a little stinky, but I did so enjoy it. Do the fish stink in the ocean? Anyways...
This was a poem filled with encouragement and a little whimsy stuck right in there with it.

"Hand made quilts of rainbowed leaves wait to warm you in coldness of days that are gray."

I really love every word of this one...

I read this and it's imagery is so beautiful. So well formed in words and well penned.

The master sculptor
creates and displays
just for you,
don't miss a thing,
little dreamer.

I love this ending...

I very nice write Jenny... Thank you for reaching in!

I hear a lullaby too and see swirling colors like turquoise and hues of pink and violet.

Same as you, peaceful and beautiful..

Beautiful, picturesque, warm and touching. Lovely sentiments captured wonderfully in verse by your pen, mind and heart.

This made me want to hold a baby and sway to the melody. Such a beautiful piece. Your words comfort the soul and are so peaceful.

this reminds me of a lullabye as well....the world missing us as we sleep, such a wonderful and powerful idea! "your funny toes dipping in" ...loved that line!

Kenny Loggins Winnie the Pooh song. That's how I'm feeling this. This is sweet in a way that I want to see this painted on the new baby room. Nice and lovingly done!

Vibrant moving adequately to line's end. To stop and enjoy what's free is what counts. You write with your heart.
