A Poem by Jenny Davis

When our souls collided
how they created such a glow
of bursts and breaks;
lightning.

Stars exploding in the sky.

Winds like songs of yesterday
blow north, moving on,
quietly remembering;
Rain.

Pouring over hidden hearts.

It's what we up North call the "Aurora Bear-ealis" or the Northern Lights.
I was transplanted there after an unfortunate incident with some campers and a picnic basket, but I don't wanna go there right now (that's one Boo-Boo I'd like to forget).

Two hearts of such a kindred spirit that nature itself seems to get involved in the festivities. "Winds like songs of yesterday blow north, moving on... quietly remembering; Rain."

Then to see that kind of love gone.

You're somethin' else, you know? Quite the poet.

Simply, Le'

This really comes alive with that incredible photo. I have to say, I am a bit biased because I LOVE spare poetry, and this is beautiful and right on target that way, love it.

This piece not only speaks on a human level, but a cosmic level. The northern lights are created by a similar process. The suns light is directed toward the poles, which comes in contact with atmospheric molecules and reflects off of them causing little bursts of light and that is what causes the lights. That said this process could be related to that of human relationships. Well written, and well done.

I love these short, quick bursts of emotion in words. They hit home and leave, like a tornado. This is certainly no exception. "Pouring over hidden hearts" is such a descriptive line and yet still there is meaning behind the meaning. Way to create that dichotomy. Hell of a write, Jenny, hell of a write.
