Her Master Pieces

Her Master Pieces

A Poem by Jenny Davis

Inside a painting she walks,
many colors gracing her feet,
many hues surrounding.

Red, green, yellow, blue...
Swishes, swirls, smears...
Of life!

Some strokes unkind-
many diluted with tears,
but inside a canvas she's free;

To create, again and again.

To immerse oneself so much in art that it becomes a part of us... that is how we truly create.
I believe time and again humans have disappeared inside the alternate reality of words and music; paint and canvas, only to emerge the victor over inner struggles.

Art is God's gift to the restless, hopeless heart and the promise that we can survive. And you, my friend, are an artist.

My friend and I talked this morning about art and writing..and how often the greatest work comes from the restlessness of our souls. I don't know how your soul is, but your art and written word is beautiful..and free. Rain..

what a way to make the canvas into words. I like how the word medium becomes the canvas medium as if the words glorified the painting or are the painting. also like how the individual brushstrokes are connoted as mere feelings but when the piece is acknowledged as a whole she is free.

Hey Jenny, you seem to be talking of this very sight, WC. It is a place to be free and create over and over again, very clever my friend.

Very nice work. My work is my way to cope with the harsh parts of my life. I put as much of me as I caninto my work and it helps me to create. Stories have always been my escape.

"wishes, swirls, smears...
Of life!"

This is lovely. I could nearly feel paint and coklors squishing between my toes. I once wrote a piece about autumn where I became an actual part of the surroundings. It was nice but was lost when my nephew crashed my computer.

I lost more stuff when my children crashed my desktop a few months back.

This brings me into the canvas and makes me wish to create. Thank you.

and if she doesn't like the brush strokes, she can start again. If she doesn't like the color, she can add new ones. . . .

I love the picture - it increases the strength of your words and their imagery.

The freedom of art... the ability to take the canvas and create... and to paint over and over until the result is what we desire.

Our art is our coping mechanism for life... the canvas upon which we re-create ourselves... over and over.

Such a beautiful picture here. I love the imagery and the breath of fresh air that this poem is.
