A Poem by Jenny Davis

The sky is black and blue,

hanging from a thread.

The twine is invisible,

as are the bruises.

The metaphorical use of colours to express despondency, defencelessness, and emotional despair in one's life, with so few words, is both sad and creative. An excellent composition.

Jenny, this short little piece says so much. You are very talented and I love this one.
God, this line say so much; the twine is invisible, as are the bruises; this is so brilliant and so true.
Excellent, Jenny.

this is one of the best short works i've read in awhile (i say it's a work because it 'works')... alot of writers here re(a)(t)ch out for that short and simple in an attempts to be prolific, and i think you succeed where alot of poetry cafe writers have failed...

Echoing the poet below. This shows so much from so little. A breeze to read as well.

like how the use of colors demonstrates the decieving power of denial. like also how it hangs from a thread as too far to obtain yet the elephant is in the room.

Hello Jenny, this is sinister.... so short this poem, just one stanza, but so powerful...I feel so paralyzed. love you always. lara
