One Chance

Really old.

Every night I wonder
if your heart matches mine.
If fate finally tossed me
a chance on thin line. . .
Doubt rages within my core
For both of us
have been deceived before.

If I said I love you,
accept it, acknowledge it.
Don't feel on cue,
I mean it, you know I do.

I never feel as if it is repeated,
I love the words every time I say them.
You were afraid and so was I,
but it didn't mean
we wouldn't move passed it.

The moment we trusted each other
and the moment we smiled together,
was the moment
that took the fear away.
and made me realize my heart--
was beating once again.

I love you,
take a chance with me.
I'd rather get hurt with you,
than live forever without you.
