Longing

Longing

A Poem by JenniferMarie

How did we get here?

Separate even in the same room,

same giant bed.

shut gates in the honey-less night

We gaze at one another,

seasoned smiles

your hands heavy behind

the busy walkway

between us.

In spaces of silence

I think to tell you truths

but you are already

a light cloaked

wanderer in a dream.

It can be different

like in Manhattan Beach

I can stop evolving

into someone foreign.

Tonight truths rest

in wrinkled un-sent notes,

fragrant hope, wounded

and longing.

Nice imagery.. what you wanted to speak, you`ve said or jotted down in your words. Every phrase saying something about love which`s a crown of the "nights" .. when the souls get emerged with the intense heart of love and bodies get bound with the uncertainties of life with aches but with love. Excellent poem!

First stanza says it all. Two loves trying to find their way back to one another. Sad, but written with that lots of emotion.
