I remember we burst through the door laughing, skin dappled in sand from Salinas beach damp towels in heaps on top of blue tile counters odor of sea on everything, even you. Lying with you long and lean under thin white sheets open shutters full of soft evening sun below, the up rise of voices in the plaza, the passion of a distant guitar tied to the air and there I was you, in my arms, and I with a plane to catch.
oh god, what a sad ending....i was in a long distance relationship once...and the ending was something like this...making love in the morning...driving her to st. louis airport...the kisses goodbye...and that was it...we never were together again...no real ending, just a fading away because of distance, but that one memory of the last morning lingering.

This piece captures the moment, so we'll. Happy, sexy, sad, a mix of sights and sounds. Just like life, take it as it comes. Nice write. Thank you for sharing.

Wow Jennifer, your imagery is amazing. I was both watching a movie and relating to this poem at the same time. Those last few moments are extremely bittersweet. I love the way you lead us to the sudden ending.
