Welcoming Guests

A Poem by JenniferMarie

I closed my eyes one summer night,
An angel with wings stretching like a meadow,
carried you to me.
You seemed from a shipwreck in her arms,
wings clicking in brisk wind,

Made me feel like music,
like how beautiful voices
can catch me, carry me like a kite,
past clouds and sun.

I hear your voice,
like a bubble I float on a stream of air,
Moving forward like on a flat escalator
straight through the French doors of an auditorium of stars.

I sit across from you,
your constant breathe like whispers,
small candles on the table brightening a dim world,
your heart, glowing through a white shirt,
I have something to tell you, I say,
You’re an angel

Due to the abundant use of imagery in this poem, the vision it paints is so beautiful and intricate. Great Job and Keep Writing! :)
