Disposable GenerationA Poem by Jennifer ElizabethWritten a few years back, in response to the Patriot ActIt started with a dream of freedom The will to die for our free choice Liberty; over vivid vision For our children, let's rejoice
Our little workers became reigning soldiers Flags proudly reflected the gleaming sun But if you look close at our Star-Spangled Banner The threads are slowly coming undone
And I don't want to be a part Of this disposable generation Our morals died as power grew An empire took over our nation And I don't want to sell these freedoms I've grown accustomed to humanity You haven't got my vote on this one I'm an American and I'll die to be free. © 2008 Jennifer ElizabethFeatured Review
