Letting Go

Letting Go

A Poem by Jennifer Elizabeth

this is a good moment for honesty

for as this moment passes

it passes with such clarity

a touch of vulnerability

with a twinge of perfect chemistry

the melting away of misery

& achieving of a destiny

in the passing of this memory

i will not curse the irony

nor will i clutch & cling to it

but let it float on with dignity

its just a moment but it sings to me

no longer pains or stings to me

so here i sit in reverie

of everything tranquility

as peacefully it passes by

& is carried upward toward the sky

my thoughts continue on their course

but this moment's left its mark on me

Author's Note

Jennifer Elizabeth
one of the first pieces i've written in awhile. i'm proud of it because it's something concrete, but i feel its not exactly the best i've ever produced. if you're reading it, please don't judge it too harshly. i've been away from this game for a long time & i'm just slowly getting back into it.

This poem lies somewhere between sad and happy. The constant use of words ending with an 'e' sound gives it a little jolt, making it very interesting. Good job!

Gone for a while or not I found it just lovely. It is always suprising that one moment when you realize you aren't upset or angry or sad about something that has been plaguing you for so long. Nicely done.

I really like this!:) It has a certain measure of tranquility about it, the type of writing one loves to read at the end of a long day:) A very refreshing write indeed:)

Well done!!:)

I like it! The third stanza was my favorite, but the whole piece definitely speaks of all the feelings associated with letting go. Do keep that ink flowing! Welcome to Writers Cafe. :-) Sharon
