Heartless

Heartless

A Poem by Pure Hope
"

Mystery series prompt- K for Killer

"

Blood is freezing in his veins,

nobody even knows his name,
dark of night best for his game,

take the heart, his claim to fame.

Another day passes by-

the urge echoes its deadly cry,

packs his tools, its time to fly,
another woman needs to die.

As darkness settles everywhere,

girl is working, he will stare,

waits 'til she thinks no one's there,

he sneaks up set to ensnare.

The bloodlust drives his knife in deep,

there will not be a heart to keep,

joy in hacking her made him weep,

tonight he'll have comforting sleep.
