Still Hot

Still Hot

A Poem by Pure Hope
"

'charred embers' evoked this piece

"

Cranberry stains

pool around pride-
lungs already filled,
fate patiently waits its burn.

Ashen cobalt haze:
icy kisses strike deep,
folded in quilts of sorrow-

Tears reign.

Yesterday's footprints-

dirt covered:

just as the memory

of an old lover.
