Night Of Thousands Of Fireflies

Night Of Thousands Of Fireflies

A Poem by Pure Hope
"

My muse got loose again.

"

For a long time I haven't been able
To trust in what a man would say to me
I found that love stories were just fables
And in the end they needed "to be free"

For years I just lived my life on my own
It's tougher to find one who understands
Then I blew my tire when I was alone
You, the man that you are, gave me a hand

You helped me quick, you're so strong and so sure
Those green eyes and that smile didn't hurt things
You had picked the lock on my inner door.
My soul felt like it started growing wings

Not just laughter was going back and forth
Learning many subjects that we could share
I slowly remembered what love is worth
I started to feel a flame lit somewhere

You pulled me close not wanting us to part
That night there were thousands of fireflies
There will be no denying that 'My heart
Is melting from the fire in my eyes"
