You held my life.

Everything I ever was, I let you have. And you let me fall.

I’ve tried and failed

To let this slip from memory

I’ve cut deep to find meaning in my life

After you left me alone

I’ve analyzed every word, smile, touch we shared

In an attempt to find something that isn’t there

You held my entire world

In the palm of your hand

And as easily as you cradled it

You let it fall.
